Analysis of the Current Development Status of China's Transformer Industry

In electrical equipment and wireless circuits, transformers are commonly used for voltage regulation, impedance matching, and safety isolation. In generators, whether the coil moves through a magnetic field or the magnetic field moves through a stationary coil, an electromotive force is induced in the coil. In both cases, the value of the magnetic flux remains constant, but the number of magnetic flux lines intersecting the coil changes. This is the principle of mutual induction. A transformer is a device that utilizes electromagnetic mutual induction to transform voltage, current, and impedance. The most fundamental form of a transformer consists of two sets of coils wound with conductors, inductively coupled together.
The Chinese transformer industry faces intense competition. Foreign multinational corporations have captured a significant market share, while the number of domestic transformer manufacturers is also growing rapidly. Competition is fierce in the low-to-mid-range transformer market. Over 20 companies possess the capability to produce 220kV transformers, while more than 100 companies can manufacture 110kV transformer products. However, manufacturers of transformers rated at 500kV and above have established high barriers to entry through technological expertise and production capacity, leading to a relatively stable market structure.
